Overview: WPL staff members put quality in people’s lives by listening to constituents’ needs, identifying community issues, and responding with relevant solutions while responsibly managing resources. Library Services staff ensures all patron requests are satisfied with quality customer service at all times. Inventory Team members ensure an accurate inventory of all library materials by processing returned materials, shelving, shifting and shelf maintenance including scanning and shelf-reading
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or G.E.D.
2 years experience in a circulation department
Skills:
Pleasant personality, able to work with a diverse public and staff
Excellent listening and telephone skills
Able to work efficiently and independently and complete assignments with limited supervision
Familiar with computer productivity software, e-mail and timesheets
Sound decision maker, able to respond appropriately in interpreting and applying policy

Job Title: English Language Learner (ELL) Program Assistant
Status: Seasonal Part-Time
Weekly Hours: 8 hours per week; may includes weekends and evening hours 16 weeks throughout the year
Overview: WPL staff members put quality in people’s lives by listening to constituents’ needs, identifying community issues, and responding with relevant solutions while responsibly managing resources. Community Services Staff are responsible for all services and programs that reach into the community including: programs and education, Literacy programs in English and Spanish, marketing and public relations strategies, volunteer recruitment and management, fundraising and grant writing, engagement and outreach. The ELL Program Assistant will assist in preparation and implementation of the ELL class.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma
1 year of College experience

Job Title: Digital Divide Instructor
Status: Grant Funded Contract Employee – Part time
Weekly Hours: 8-10 hours per week; includes daytime, evening and weekend hours
Overview:The digital divide instructor will teaches basic, intermediate and advanced computer skills to youth and adults from the Waukegan Public Library in English and Spanish. Creates training session, provides material handouts, maintains and documents attendance and participation of students. Administer entry and exit surveys.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma required, Associate/Bachelor Degree preferred
Completion of college level computer courses a plus.
