… one of the most fascinating small towns on earth? Welcome to the Cedar Creek Settlement in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. In Cedar Creek Seasons*, you get four short stories in one book. Cedar Creek Settlement is a real place just north of Milwaukee (I-94 north to I-43, exit 89, follow the Cedar Creek Settlement signs) that makes a wonderful day trip so you can relive the adventures in this book by Cynthia Ruchti, Eileen Key, Becky Melby and Rachael Phillips.
Each story is set in a different season. Most of the places mentioned and all of the festivals really do exist (I love all of the festivals. Winter Fest is in February, Strawberry Fest is in June, the Wine and Harvest festival in Sept. is my very favorite, and German Fest is in October). Cedarburg has the only existing covered bridge in the state of Wisconsin, and all of the stories have a connection to the bridge, whether it’s through prayer, a place of refuge or just a memory. A few of the characters, who range in age from the 20’s to the 60’s, appear in some small way in another story. To tell what each story is about, just know that romance is in the air, second chances, old loves, chocolate, strawberries and laughter are the ingredients that make this book extremely hard to put down.
*Cedar Creek Seasons is part of the Romancing America series of unconnected inspirational romance novels.
