Volunteer with Literacy
Make a difference - become a volunteer tutor! The Adult Literacy Tutoring Program matches volunteer tutors with adults who want to improve their basic skills in reading, writing, math or to learn the English language. The program serves adult literacy students and tutoring usually involves a commitment of about three hours per week. Tutors work with students one-on-one or serve adult learners enrolled in classes under the direction of a paid instructor. Tutoring takes place in public places such as libraries or school sites throughout the county. To register for the next tutor training, or to learn more about literacy volunteering, please contact Josh Anderson at 847-623-2041 ext. 225 or janderson [at] waukeganpl [dot] info.
