To benefit Literacy 2020
The Waukegan Public Library is committed to increase literacy levels by 25% by the year 2020 with relevant and innovative classes, resources, and services that help community members be successful, regardless of barriers such as language, educational attainment levels or income. All classes are free to the public.
“The ability to read affects everything from graduation rates to employment as well as crime, health care, and our overall standard of living. At the library, we are committed to creating a community of readers with our “Path to Learning and Literacy.” When our residents are successful, our city will be successful.” – Richard Lee, Executive Director
All funds raised at the Gold Medal Gala benefit new and existing literacy initiatives at the Library through the Waukegan Public Library Foundation.
