In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt,” says author Margaret Atwood. Join us as we prepare for another bountiful growing season! We’ll plant seeds to nurture at the library until planting time, decorate and grow your own flower in a pot to take home, and make a creation with twigs. Limit 10 gardeners ages 4 to 9. Parents to invited to attend with their children. This program fills up quickly so register early! Only families that are registered for these first gardening programs may attend the summer gardening club.

If it rains, concerts will move indoors to the Bradbury Room in the library’s lower level. Listeners can bring their own lunch or purchase lunch available for sale onsite from Green Town Tavern. Drinks and baked goods are also available for purchase by the Friends of the Waukegan Public Library. The Courtyard Concerts are generously sponsored each year by the Friends of the Waukegan Public Library.
