Temporary Visitors Driver’s License Preparation Classes will be available for immigrants seeking to obtain their driver’s license. The goal of this program will be to help prepare students pass the written portion of the Rules of the Road test in the state of IL, in order to be a licensed driver.

Meet Circuit Court Clerk Keith Brin and discuss the many resources that are offered by the Circuit Court.

Keith S. Brin was sworn in as Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court on December 1, 2013.

E-filing and remote access to court records and documents are top priorities for Brin who most recently led the development of a state-of-the-art Electronic Filing System without the use of taxpayer funds.

As Clerk of the Circuit Court, Brin is an outspoken advocate and steadfast proponent of utilizing technology to create a seamless and efficient connection between the courts and those utilizing the courts. Brin has distinguished himself nationally as a respected and sought after counsel with regard to technological aspects of electronic citations (E-citation) and the courts.

Outside of the Circuit Clerk’s office, Brin is highly involved in a number of civic and philanthropic organizations, including serving as Co-Chair of the Technology Committee for the Lake County Bar Association. The USO, Make-A-Wish Illinois, Northern Illinois Food Bank and NICASA as service project recipients for the Circuit Clerk’s office under Brin. Brin is also an active and steadfast supporter of Honor Flight-Chicago and Operation Locate A Hero.

A highly regarded attorney and accomplished business executive prior to entering public service, Brin practiced law in Chicago at a number of prestigious firms where he focused on representing companies and employers. As a business executive, Brin helped turn small to medium sized entrepreneurial ventures from failing companies into profitable ones through legal, financial, and managerial overhauls.

Brin received both a Bachelor of Science Degree and Master of Public Health Degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He also received a JD from the Loyola University School of Law.

A Gardening tour will be included during the season. Last year, this program filled up quickly, so please register early! Limit: 15 gardeners, ages 4 to 8, plus four helpers, ages 9 to 12. Members will continue with the club from June 10th through August 12th.

Every Friday from June 6 to August 29, musicians will perform a wide range of musical styles including jazz, rock, folk, and bluegrass from noon to 1 p.m. in front of the library on Clayton and County Streets. If it rains, concerts will move indoors to the Bradbury Room in the library’s lower level. Listeners can bring their own lunch or purchase lunch available for sale onsite from Green Town Tavern. Drinks and baked goods are also available for purchase by the Friends of the Waukegan Public Library. The Courtyard Concerts are generously sponsored each year by the Friends of the Waukegan Public Library.
