Annual Lake County Monarch Festival

Date and Time:
Sunday, September 8, 2013 - 1:00pm4:00pm
The annual Lake County Monarch Festival, a free family festival dedicated to raising awareness in the community about nature, art, and culture, will feature music, dancing, educational exhibits, family crafts and games, at the corner of Clayton and County Streets in downtown Waukegan.

Booths will highlight the fall migration of the Monarch butterfly from Illinois to Michoacan, Mexico and teach children how the ecosystem is vital to the survival of the Monarch. The migration remains a mystery to the world but represents the importance of maintaining culture and returning to your roots.
Registration is not available for this event.
